Southwest To Open Four Airport Lounges In 2027

Southwest is continuing to overhaul its operations and will formally enter the airport lounge market in late 2027.

Construction is now underway on the initial facilities, which will be housed at Austin-Bergstrom International Airport (AUS), Baltimore/Washington International Thurgood Marshall Airport (BWI), Daniel K. Inouye International Airport (HNL), and Nashville International Airport (BNA).

For the U.S. carrier overhauling how it’s perceived, what it offers customers, and its position within the industry, the shift toward airport lounges cements the business as one offering a genuine premium ground product.

The shift to premium is a far cry from the stripped-down, simplified model Southwest
